Was diving last week in BVI... and most locations had the standard blenny living in rock holes... but off the rough side of Josh Van Dyke...there were none... but there were these guys
The area is the home of every kind of hamlet one can ID, and at first look, I thought it was one...however, those front fins are gripping fins, and they act, just like blenny's.
Did not see one that was more than about 1.5 inches in length.
They were only in a very small area, at around 20 ft, which is in the surge area from the swells.
Sorry for the bad image, but they were really fast and if you got within about 5 ft, they would scamper into their hole. A very fast sort of run/swim...
