Oil/Tar In water and on beach at Curacao Marriott?

Just reading TripAdvisor and saw this report:

The average score for this stay is primarily caused by the fact that there was some oil "disposed off" by a ship passing by Curacao and some of the oil has hit the beach at the Marriott. If you plan to go swimming, be prepared to have oil/tar on your bathing gear and body... and it's tough to clean... The hotel does offer a free shuttle bus to another beach, but that's not why you book a sea-side hotel....

Anyone know anything about this? Planning a trip last week of August
 

Thanks for background. Was wondering if anyone knows the current state of affairs. My wife and kids are non-divers who love the beach and water at the Marriott. If that's not accessible - or diminished in a substantive way - then Curacao is out for our trip this year.
