On occasion, I find that after diving I have a dull pain in my stomache that I can't seem to cure with food or water. It typically only last the night and isn't a serious ache, just a persistant dull pain. It even occurred last time I was in the pool. My buddy said he has same problem. Is this an effect of offgassing?

Do you ever have the pain unrelated to diving? Have you always had this pain after diving? Could it be related to the way your gear is configured? Sounds like you might want to see a GI doc for further evaluation. It could just be GERD, which can be easily taken care of with an otc or rx med.

I thought I may have DCS or AGE from the pool one day because my stomach hurt like hell after ascending. I was fine a couple of days later and then worked out what happened. I was practicing using the purge method of reg clearing (I usually use blast) and swallowed some air into my stomach - when then expanded upon ascent. It works its way out after awhile..

I use to have a similar problem but it was caused because I swallow to equalize my ears. Usually I would belch when I surfaced but had a few times that it took some time. Usually a soda would take care of the problem by causing me to belch.
