What a trip! Had a great time. Four dives on two days with Alison. Lots of first sightings for me (sharks, spotted eagle rays, HUGE crab and lobsters). Full report to come later. We are so glad we made this trip, but i think we will stay in Cancun next time as the rooms seem to be nicer for the $$$ spent.

It's very difficult staying in Cancun and diving Cozumel. Where did you stay, for how much...??

Suit yourself, but it will be a tradeoff. Maybe nicer rooms are cheaper in Cancun but you most likely won't be diving Cozumel from there. Travel time between the Cancun hotel zone and Cozumel could be as much as 3-4 hours each way.

sorry to confuse...we stayed at Iberostar Cozumel this time. It was nice...and I know the tradeoff of staying in Cancun is less/different diving. Who knows what we'll do when we actually go to plan the next one? We'll just have to see.

It's the old, true thing about property & real estate: Location Location Location. You can find much lower prices on nice properties north of town on Cozumel, as well as many other places on the peninsula - like Cancun. They are not convenient to world class diving like the ones south of town on the island.

I don't know what you paid, but shopping for better deals often pays handsomely. So many different rates for the same room are seen here and there.
