19th Oct is a holiday for some as the actual holiday falls on the Saturday, hence the 3 day trip.

Hey guys, I suffer from motion sickness and is wondering if the White Manta LOB is stable enough to counter that? The LOB is for end Oct and i'm undecided if I should get on that boat. Grateful for any advice ;)

C-Fan, i just came off the Black Manta from the 3-day trip. It was a fun and relaxing trip. Several wrecks and a few big fish (Manta, Tuna, Turtles, and lots of small stuff). Food and service was outstanding. This is my 3rd trip this year with these guys and the 9th in 3 years. It was the best. As for conditions, it was like diving in a pool. No waves and little current. Very unusual but a pleasant surprise.

As for Waikiki, they are outstanding to dive with. Very safe and a good group of folks that travel with them. I have used them 5 times this year to Tioman and love them. Good service, albeit, on a budget so soft on the pocket though the rooms are basic.

regards

Sorry I missed this and it's probably too late. If you are prone to seasickness, the heavier Black Manta is obviously more stable. Even I have been sick on the White Manta once but it still one of the bigger boats around and fairly stable. When I got a (it lasted less than 5 minutes), there was a huge storm. In October, many days the sea can be mirror flat but it can also be very stormy with full monsoon. I'm on the BM the last weekend of the month and feel it's worth it for me. Dramamine, ginger and mind tricks take care of most of the rest of the landlubbers.

Zippsy: Thanks for the advice! I just returned from the White Manta trip and the weather was great! With the exception of a short period of rainfall on the last day, it was breezy and sunny most of the time. The yellow motion sickness pill provided on board helped immensely and I only got sick once. :)

Hi,
I ended up not going anywhere but I'll definitely keep these options in mind when the season opens again next year.
In the meantime I will break the wait with a trip to Krabi !
