I am hoping to get the cleanup dive started at 9 AM, so that everyone can have the afternoon free for other diving. This means that an arrival at ~ 8 AM would be good. That should leave enough time for the paperwork, any fills that are needed, gear assembly, etc.

Sorry you can't dive early you had me all ready to jump in first thing. Maybe someone else is an early riser and will want to go for an eary dive before the clean up.

Some of us with year passes can dive early !!!
Or so they say ...
So if someone REALLY twists my arm , I could buddy up with someone...
I assume ballroom?

What's the dealio with coming friday night? I am hoping to show up around 8pm friday night. Can I sign in and all that then, or no? If not, do I drive in, set up tent and all and just show up at the office the next morning to pay and all that?

Also, I'm assuming the dive shop is open all day, so I could get fills? How much are fills there for normal air?

As long as you are willing to dive with a simple little OW diver :D

Looks like 9 AM it will be then for me. Dang, I really wanted to get out of here earlier so I could do an early morning dive. Oh well.
The way it is now, at least I can get the tent up before my first dive.
Will be bringing a couple non divers with me, and they may do a drift down the river on floats. Think we can make a plan for the non divers to do that while we do the clean up?

The store is open til 10pm, ie you can sign in til then. Otherwise its a stay the night, pay and sign in the morning deal. The fills are available 8am til 10pm, before and after that you have to rely on your previous fills to do any really late or early dives. The cost of a fill was $6 last year, not sure if that has changed - its been so long since i bought gas there as its only air - for nitrox and a cheaper fill go to CEE a few miles west of Ginnie, i think its 8c/cuft nowadays (correct me if i am wrong). I still have to get all my tanks VIP'd before the trip and buy Christina a new wetsuit for the freshwater - so its a good thing the diving will be free on saturday (at least gets $60+/- back in my pocket of that expense)!

Next issue is surface support/trash carrying. I take it we are using mesh bags to hold the stuff. Are we taking canoes down with us to put the trash in - are Ginnie providing those? Can the non-divers assist in taking trash out of the bags and putting it in canoes? Will they get any compensation for their day entry for helping the effort?

Does anyone have an extra mesh bag I can use? Please.

Um... I might be able to find a pillow case and some scissors... ;)

I only have a small goodie bag, myself, so I might have to go buy a bigger bag, myself.

From el posto numero Uno ...

They are going to provide us with topside support, including boat/boats to deposit the trash in, people in the boats to help us dump the trash out of the bags, dispose of the trash from there, etc. All we have to do is supply the divers to collect it.**************

Yeah, I -might- bring along one of my ratty old mesh bags,
but I'm guessing the good folks at Ginnie truly know whut they B doin'.
