jbb:It wouldn't be so bad with a SLR because if you stay with the same line you can still use the lenses. Of course you MUST get a strobe at that point and then the whole thing is the same price as buying a car.
My last car cost about half what I've spent so far on my camera kit
edit - it was a cheapo second-hand, tho...
