I have a new Oceanic Veo 3 (purchased from an authorized dealer at Beneath the Sea in March of this year). This youtube video shows that once I get to 20 feet the safety stop count down starts but when I descend the count down continues until I get to 30 feet. I have never had this happen with any other dive computer. Normally when you drop below 21 ft the count down stops. Is this a defective computer or is that the way a Veo 3 works. I do not feel comfortable with the computer working this way, I did contacted Oceanic a week ago but they have not replied.

you got me curious so I looked in the veo 3 manual:

page 54
If you descend deeper than 30 FT (9 M) for 10 seconds, the No Deco Main will
replace the Timer screen which will reappear upon ascent to 20 FT (6 M) for 1
second.

Wow - thanks for looking that up. I am not sure I would have understood that to mean what is actually happening. This sure does not seem like a "feature" to me. I am also a bit bothered that Oceanic has not replied to my contacts.

Yes, it's one of the "features?", that's not my favorite. Otherwise, I love this computer. Have you noticed that it'll start the count down before you actually reach 20'? I changed mine to 15' and I like to do my SS at 18', so it's been working out reasonably well. Hang in there, I believe you'll grow to love it. If you do get a coherent answer ftom Oceanic, please share it here. I find the manual to not be that user friendly. However, there are a number of YouTube videos that can help you learn the settings, menu etc.
