Sorry if this has been covered before.
I am fairly new to diving and plan on getting my AOW and Nitrox certs. The two computers that I favor the most are the new Oceanic Veo 200 and the Aeris 300G. Are there any suggestions on one over the other? Your help is appreciated...
(I am not opposed to other computers...just trying stay within the $300 mark with compass and guage)

Thank you

If you look at computer lines by Oceanic & Aeris you'll see how similar they are.

Atmos Elite - VT Pro
Atmos AI - Pro Plus 2
750G - Data Trans Plus
Atmos 1 - Veo 100
Atmos 2 - Versa

I cannot know for sure, but my guess is that those are designed and, probably, made by the same outfit. And then sold under Oceanic or Aeris brand names.
The most significant difference between Aeris and Oceanic lines is display layout. Aeris models have so designated “non-essential ” data separated in its own little area.

Another diffrence is that if buying from unauthorized dealer (read "on-line") Aeris tend to be less expensive.

Thank you. That may be the reason that i'm having such difficulty choosing. They are both quite comparable. I have come to understand that the Aeris 300G is a discontinued product, whereas the Veo 200 is brand new to the Oceanic line.

Thanks again...and while I'm at it. This board is great, people are very responsive.

I have an Aeris 300G and have made about 10 dives with it sofar. I absolutely love it. It has all the features one needs and is very easy to read and use.

What is very nice for night and "dark water" diving is the fact that the SPG has a built-in light that is operated from the computer: you press a single button and you can read all gauges without having to hassle with a light. Very convenient and also nice as a safety feature if your light fails.

I seriously doubt that the 300G is discontinued as it is still prominently marketed by Aeris and there is no apparent replacement model.

I don't know the Veo 200, but can highly recommend the 300G.
