On a recent trip to Florida, I managed to obtain my first dive computer - a new Oceanic Veo 2.0 wrist mount dive computer for a pretty reasonable price. I managed to get a bit of a discount as I purchased some other items from the same dealer.

I wanted to stick with either an Oceanic, Hollis, Genesis, or Aeris as my local dive center could provide support and maintenance. However, I went with the Veo 2.0 as it has two separate buttons for reviewing the various screens and settings (unlike some of the other Veo models with the single button which I found to be a bit of a PITA during my open water training).

I bought the wrist mount version as I feel it would be a bit cumbersome to have it mounted in the console and operated the BCD inflator/deflator at the same time. However, I still have the ability to mount it in the console and switch the depth gauge from the console to the wrist unit if I want to in the future.

After having used the computer a couple of times I am pleased with the ease of operation and the retrieval of the log information from the unit itself, or by using the download information to my computer.

Has anyone else had any experience with this dive computer?

I bought one this summer and love it. I too went with the wrist mount. I find that I am more aware of my depth and dive times because I don't have to feel around for the console.

I have not done anything exotic, like switching gas mixtures, but it is easy to set up for normal air and nitrox dives. I think you made a good choice.

I really like mine so far. Wrist mounts for myself and my daughter.

A dozen dives in and all is well. I'm a Mac geek, so I'm hoping that Mac Dive will add support for the USB download cable. I was able to use boot camp and get the dives in that way, but hope I won't have to deal windows for long.
