Just got it, started checking it out but it won't shut off?

Does it just go and go?

jb..

You don't turn it off. If you turn it on and DON"T go diving, it will go off in two hours. If you return from your last dive, it will go off when there is no remaining estimated residual nitrogen.

If it has a countdown to fly feature, it won't turn off for 24 hours after you dive.

What if you are just playing with it. It is a little cold up here in the great white north for diving. I was just going through the instructions, the boss called me for supper and it won't turn off............o well better safe than sorry.............not flying until the 28th Dec (Cozumel here we come)

jb...

Hey the display just shut off......... 7.05pm est

The VEO100nx has a very nice feature.

Maybe you can tell what page the manual says the display will auto shutoff?
I read the little blue manual 4.0" x 4.75" and it says nothing on that topic.

It's in there, I don't have the manual in front of me but can assure you it is in there. You may want to take a spare battery with you. Mine died on my first dive in the Bahamas this past October. It is easy to change, took about 10 minutes.

Page 19 "If no dive is made within 2 hours after initial activation, the unit will automatically deactivate"
Page 68 "Automatically shuts off 24 hours after last dive"

Also your LDS should have gone over the units functions with you

Not exactly. For the last 22 hours of the time-to-fly countdown, the pressure sensing circuitry of Oceanic/Pelagic computers is shutdown and just the countdown is shown.

This is kind of an in-between state between being on and being fully off. Very low power drain in the countdown mode, so it doesn't use up much battery power at all.

During this time, the computer should be turned back on before starting a dive -- either manually, or by wet activation for those computers that have that feature.
