Hello,
I'm a bit concerned about my Oceanic Data Plus 2, so i wrote to oceanic at service@XXXX, after 3 days - not a word....
What is the better way of getting in touch with them ?
Thank you.

Call them - you can get the relevant number(s) from their website. They used to be good at answering their e-mails but now you have to call if you want a response.

thnk you Vie. Let's hope i can get my comp serviced...
BTW, did how often ( if at all ) you do it ( service to the comp ) ?
thnx

I have my Datamax Pro Plus inspected annually (and o-rings in the quick disconnect and battery compartment changed) by an authorized Oceanic Dealer. I try to change the battery annually but sometimes I forget. It's been totally trouble free after 4 years.

As for my Atom, I will be getting my third one soon and have not had one for over a year yet! First one failed during a safety stop, second one went back to San Leandro for a firmware upgrade (they basically give you a new unit). New one arriving today.

MB,

From what I've heard from more than one LDS owner, Oceanic is extremely slow with their customer service. They give good service, it's just very slow. You'll likely get a response to your email, however it may take a week or two. I had my LDS order 3 Oceanic DIN converters about 3 weeks ago and am still waiting for them to arrive. When I placed the order, I was warned that it would take quite a while.

I almost hate to do this.

It's nice to know your alternatives.

thank you all for replies.
I spoke earlier today with CS I think his name Ron. First of ll i enjoyed our conversation - it was _useful_ indeed. I learned a bit about the computer - limits , why this and that. I also was educated about warranty and what do they actually do.
As a result i'm sending my DP2 to Ron for full ( now annual ) service , which is $90 ( including shipment ).
Pretty happy so far.
