Ok Folks lets hear some reviews on this computer. I am looking to buy one. what are the pros, and cons. thanks.

I have been diving mine for 2 years and love it. I am OLD so the large numerals in the display are a blessing.

I have one and have had it over year. I like it alot. I got the quck disconnect and compass then purchased the usb cable for downloading the dives. Numbers are good easy to read. Light is bright and works great when dark. easy to set.
One thing I did to protect it was I bought a cover from Zagg. they originally made cell phone covers "Invisible shield"

I had a piece left over from my cell Phone that fit the screen perfectly not a scratch on it and doesn't effect the view and wont fog like the plastic protectors.
One thing I did to protect it was I bought a cover from Zagg. they originally made cell phone covers "Invisible shield"

First decide if you want a console or wrist mount. The wireless wrist mounts look great but are expensive.
I have a pro plus 2 and I am very happy with it. I like a console, large display (easy to read underwater), Air or Nitrox, very programable, rock solid, download 25 dives at a time, good service, change battery yourself, and easy to read compass. There is an online training program you can take that is very helpful.

If you want a Console then this is probably the nicest one on the market!

3. Great features - get the QD & Compass as well
If you want a Wrist Unit then go with the VT3 or Atom - A little more expensive.
VT3 - Bigger #'s and you can get a DS & S boot intead of the strap
Atom - if you don't need big #'s, divers like Watch Style
Wrist computers are a lot more popular (Hands Free) these days. You can check the Board, there are a lot of posts on this subject.

I bought my first one, an Oceanic Pro Plus nearly 10 years ago. Liked it and then bought two more a year later for my wife and son. We made hundreds of dives with these units and other than changing the batteries no problems.
In 2008 I went on a liveaboard trip to the Cayman Islands. I took several extra batteries. During the trip the unit went through four batteries.
In July 2009 I took the unit to a LDS that was a dealer. They said this was common with these older units. Sent it in for repairs and found that they no longer made the Pro Plus. Oceanic said they would replace the unit at dealer cost for a new one which was great.
In January took the other two in since they started doing the same thing. And again replacement at cost. So hopefully these three will give me another 10 years of good service.
Done light deco dives with these as well. My original units did not have the quick disconnet or compass and I passed on these options as well.
I like diving a wrist computer but diving an AI model it is hard to beat the Pro Plus 2.
My wife, son and daughter-in-law all like them because they can look at one gauge and see all the information. Plus it has huge letters. So yes I am a fan.

I've been diving that computer for many years now (have 4 of them now on assorted reg sets) and I really like them! Easy to use, BIG display, and less tempramental/more reliable than a typical wireless unit....wireless works great, when it works, but pretty much sucks when it doesn't work!
I'll admit I do have my eye on the new Atomic 'Cobalt' AI hosed computers due out this spring, although being Atomics, they likely won't come cheap, so I'm anxious to see their price and some real-world reviews when those come out, if they are as nice as I would expect an Atomic product to be, I'll likely get maybe 3 of those for my primary regs, then 'demote' my ProPlus II's to my back-up regs, again nothing really wrong with the Oceanics other than they really haven't updated them for quite a few years now, and I think the Atomics will represent the next generation of improvement, especially user-friendliness/operation....algorithms.....and the new screens appear to be a major improvement in ergonomics/visibility.

I loved mine. I bought one for me and one for my wife. I've since moved onto technical diving and now use multi-gas deco computers, so I haven't used my Pro Plus in a couple of years. Let me know if you want a used one and I'll hook you up.

I dived with one for years but would recomend a wrist model as it is much more functional having not to hold out to view. It essentially means you cannot desend and ascend in the proper horizonal trim position...
