which should i get? oceanic eos or the scubapro mk25?? and is the oceanic alpha 8 octo any good?

The Eos and Mk25 are quite different puppies. Both will breath excellent, but it really comes down to what you need for your type of diving. The EoS is a balanced Diaphragm, which will work great in cold/dirty water. The Mk25 is a piston first stage which will breath great, probably even better then the EOS, but will not perform well in cold / debris filled water. You would be better off comparing the EOS with the Scubapro Mk17 "which is SP top of the line balanced diahragm first".
