Recently I bought a Oceanic Delta 4 FDX10 regulator for a dive trip to Roatan. It operated wonderfully until I rolled over on my back. The regulator stopped flowing. I was at Mary's Place and various other sites when this air interruption would occur. I was at about 65 to 85 feet when this happened. Not being able to breath at 80 feet is really annoying. Once I rolled back over everything was fine. I did this a number of times because it was puzzling.
I returned the regulator to the SCUBA store here in Dallas. Talked to an Oceanic Rep from California and he gave me the phone number of a technician at Oceanic. Everyone was shocked at this problem except the Oceanic Tech who said he has the same regulator and when you roll over it does become harder to breath. It shouldnt be as hard to inhale (almost no air at all) as mine but it is a quirk of the new Delta 4 FDX10 regulator.
Has anyone else experienced this problem to this degree? I going diving off the Costa Rican Pacific Coast in a few weeks and I am planning on buying the same regulator, especially if I can have a better feeling about its air flow when Im on my back or inverted.
