You cant go wrong with the Delta 4 I love mine and the addition of the DVT is a great asset while doing bottle changes on a rocking boat. I love the way it breaths at any depth also the swival is a great addition which makes it easier to hold in your mouth. Dont forget that it has a sealed 1st stage also. Sorry if I sound like a sales rep I just love this reg.

deeper thoughts:
I am going to search for reviews but offhand do you know if rodales did any?

I do seem to remember that I did find one last year when I was reviewing, however, if you follow the D2D site as well as SB, you know that they are in the process of updating their website and currently all the great trip reports, dive tips and achieved reviews appear to be missing...

Here is a link that I previously bookmarked to their regulator review page but it appears to be MIA along with all the other good data that they used to have... Hopefully they will move all of the previous data to their new site...

In the meantime, you might call Joe at ScubaToys or do a search on this board for what his partner Larry previously said about it... Oceanic might have thoughts as well but suspect they would want to sell something new and not something that is no longer in production...

I think the Delta 4 has a swivel and the 3Ti does not but you could add one... I've never needed one but I make sure my gear lines up and that my BCD is on the tank straight... I looked at both when I purchased mine and since light weight is important to me, I went with the 3Ti, even though at the time, it cost more than the Delta 4...

I love my Delta 4 / FDX-10 set up. I dove it for a year with no problems, breathes great at all depths (I've been down to 107fsw) and am a hevy breather. Recently I converted to DIN and changed to a long primary second stage hose that required eliminating the swivel and putting in a Delta 3 orfice.(I think this can be eliminated by buying a long hose from Oceanic). I hear it's rated best reg under $500 and I believe it.

The plastic body can't take a bunch of abuse so I pack mine in a regulator bag to avoid cracking the housing when it's jammed in the dive bag.

Rodales ranked it as one of the two best regulators in their big reg test.

The other regulator having a retail price of $1300.

I have the Delta IV.... but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

I am buying mine in December after the florida show and will also update this thread

The Delta IV is the best. DVT is nice safety insurance to have. Very comfortable and an easy breather. Mine seems to have a very small whistle to it that even the tech can't figure out. But I haven't had any functional problems with it and the whistling is really hardly noticeable. Can't go wrong with this reg. I prefer it over the Scubapro regs I used from the shop I got my training from.

I have the Delta 3, Delta 4 and an Apeks ATX-100. Of the 3, I prefer the Delta 4. It breathes about the same as the Apeks but the swivel makes all the difference in terms of confort for me. You definitely can't go wrong with the Delta 4.

Awesome Reg!!!! I just had to order more......they sell out extremely fast this time of year in the store and my students love them.....They train on an Oceanic Alpha 8, but we let them all try a Delta 4 and you should see there face from the first breath and the comfort with the swivel......PM me if your interested
