oceanic alpha 7

I have a chance of buying a oceanic alpha 7 regulator and wanted to know if this would be a good regulator to buy. The guy hasn't used in about 1 year so I know I would have to take it in and get it checked. Can someone tell me if this would be something I should look at buying as my first regulator.

As an entry level regulator it is a good start. Check the prices on new ones so you can better guage how much of a good buy you are going to get. The Alpha 8 series are out so check those out at the Oceanic website for the details and MSRP prices (might get some discount at the LDS).

I have an Alpha7. I've really been happy with mine for the money I spent on it. As long as it's on a balanced 1st stage it will perform just fine. It's a good value for the money.
