Just saw the news and see that Maui really got hit last night. Hope all is well.

Bet this is perfect hunting weather for our sharky friends :D

On today's Maui News, the pic on the front page is a woman paddling a stand up board down S. Kihei Rd.

There was lots of flooding in the usual spots. There was another rockslide in the Pali section of the Maalea to Lahaina road that cutoff West Maui for a few hours for the 2nd time in a week.

It rained hard in Kihei for a few hours just before dawn on Thursday. Lots of lightning. The central courtyard of my condo complex had 2 feet of standing water for an hour or so.

All in all, it was pretty much typical for a major rainstorm. A bit of disruption. A little bit of flood damage here and there.

Today is a beautiful sunny day and I was tempted to go diving this morning, but having seen all the muddy brown water going into the ocean yesterday, I decided to wait until tomorrow.

I saw the photos as well of all the storm damage and couldn't help but think how awful the inshore sites must be for diving today. More rain coming later in the weekend, the the dry up will begin....according to the forecasters at least.

Today I finished a private 3-day OW cert that started 7 days ago. :idk:

Airport Beach was 15-20 foot vis and we considered ourselves lucky! :shakehead:

There were lots of trees down over here. Roger had to drive the long way to work because of it. I think Waianae got the worst of it, couple of homes/belongings lost. We also had lots of sewage over flow and have brown water alerts...Talk about pilau. The sharks should be happy.
