Amnesia suddenly? Dont know the story of Daviw Shaw and Don Sherley (aka Raising the Dead)

Maybe you should study ICD a bit more before commenting it is "textbook stuff that does not happen in real life" especially in a technical forum.
Dude you're talking about an 800ft dive... a little bit out of the normal technical diving range, wouldn't you say?

And I do know the story but I don't recall names and details for every bananas dive plan on the planet that's ever happened. Sorry for not being a savant.

Back in real life land, tons of folks are routinely switching from gases like15/55 and 12/70 to 50% and not having issues. I recognize that the plural of anecdote is not data but there sure seems to be a lot of consistent anecdotes.

Can't be, ICD is not a real life risk according to some...

ICD is a real risk that will pose risks during trimix dives, it is not just a problem on extreme dives as those by Bennett or Sherley. Shallower trimix dives to 100m or less can pose the same problems during bad gas switches.

Lets get real for a second. How many 150m+ dives are you doing?

I do a modest amount of deep diving, I had one week last month where I did more 100m dives than most people here will do in a year. I've never been below 350' myself. I am going to call BS on the majority of people that are worried that ICD is a real concern for their diving profiles.

Just because the majority of technical dives don't venture deeper than 100m does not make ICD a textbook story. The choice of gas and the depth at which you switch them during trimix dives is what triggers ICD events. This can and will happen even below 300ft using inappropriate gasses.

Let get back to the fundamentals of this conversation. ICD is textbook stuff that does not happen in real life" is a FALSE and dangerous statement. It is really that simple.

Can we agree that the concern related to ICD is most typically related to inner-ear DCS, at least?

@ajduplessis context dude. It's pretty clear that within the scope of the dives we're talking about, ICD is not an issue. If you want to talk about stupid dives, sure, but trying to generalize what AJ said is silly. We're all reading the same thread and we're all aware of the context.

To be clear, you could for sure come up with some wacky plan that would result in ICD (see David Doolette's post about the topic). Most of those plans involve ridiculous depths and gas conditions that 99% of technical divers aren't going to experience.

For the rest of us, its not an issue to get all wrapped up about.

IDC, HPNS etc etc do not concern me because I never dive that deep but they are real.
Same apply to Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, Pauli Exclusion Principle, Wave Mechanic(Schrodinger's Equation) etc etc. You can ignore them but they are not going to disappear because you(me included) do not have a clue about it.

If you told me that hpns was an issue on 200-300ft dives I'd say the same thing.
