My family will be in Waikiki the end of March for 7 days and would like to do some diving.
I'm currently NAUI OW and would like to move up to AOW.

My kids (have played in pools w/ my gear) and my wife would like to do an intro dive.

How about some links or comments ( i've read the 7 page post about AAA).

I've also pm'd some of the local dive shops.

Thanks, TIM

Not a lot of NAUI over here, Tim. Just a few shops in Waikiki, which will work out for you since you'll be staying there. I'm independent, but have a regular full time job, otherwise I'd be glad to toss my card in the mix.

I've been pm'ing leesa/lisa and she has given me some info and place to eat.

PADI honors NAUI OW so I'm going to use on of them, i think.

6 dives over 3 days to get PADI AOW.

Any info on these dive ops?

http://www.captainbruce.com/ , they have given me some pretty good prices too.

Never tried any of the local dive outfits personally, but one of my friends really likes Captain Bruce. (I'm a poor college student and can't afford boat dives). There's also an outfit out of Hawaii Kai named "Captain Joe" that's very cost-effective if you have your own gear.

Are you sure you want to take an AOW class on vacation, though? If it were me, I'd just have fun on my time off and deal with instruction some other time.

Try Waikiki Diving. www.WaikikiDiving.com

On Maui at least there are some ops where doing your AOW is cheaper than the same number of boat dives would cost, and since AOW is about fun/different dives it's great for vacation imo...

Aloha, Tim

Divin, the links works for me now.

I've got my brother's books (FD rescue diver) so I'm doing the reading now, some of the places I've checked do the AOW for the cost of 6-10 dive packages as Kidspot said.

It's a LOT better for me to do the upgrade in WARM water vs our 40-55* water and 7mm wet or a drysuit.

2 weeks after we get back the GLWC (scubaboard club) is having a GTG at Gilboa so we'll right back in the cool water.
