I'm starting some tech classes soon and need to buy a few more regs to fill out the equipment needs. I've thought about going the 'gently used' route and having them serviced rather than buying new.

But since I need at least one to be 02 clean I have to find out what that would cost and where I'd have it done.

Any help would be appreciated.

A hint of where you are located would help. Start with talking to the instructor you will be training with. I am sure he/she can lead you down a few paths to success, if not.... find another Instructor.

I O2 cleaned my first reg myself. I had never done it before, so it may have taken me longer than an experienced tech to do it. It took me a very long time. I learned a lot, but the next time I needed one, I bought one new. The extra price was worth it to me.

You can get a new OMS Workhorse for about $200.

I spent more on an Apeks because I got I got a good price and I know how to get it serviced.

Cost will vary by region and by shop. The actual materials and shop supply costs are cheap, and labor is not much more than is needed for an annual service.

But cost may not reflect that as some shops go way over board on it and other shops charge through the nose for it.
