North Carolina Nudibranch

Hi Steve,
Frank send me your photo and I have been trying to get it IDed. I can tell you that it is not any Mediterranean
species that we know. And I have not found any records of this species being found on the NC or SC coast.
You can get my email from Frank, and I'll tell you what I have found out so far.

Hi Jenny, no it is not a hypselodoris species, it is a Felimare species, and it is not a Med species. We have been working on trying to get it Ided, but it is probably an undescribed species. Anne DuPont (coauthor Caribbean Sea Slugs)

This nudibranch is: Polycera chilluna
beautiful photo!

My one photo I took today of the nudis didn't turn out.. so I guess I just have to explain it.. They were the flabellinas. Ho hum.. right? Except this little hydroid had 5 of em! Very cool. One was laying eggs.
