I am planning a trip to Alor now, but I have only three weeks for the whole trip.
I am not sure whether I would like to dive in another location, preferably off Labuan Bajo, but it means flying via Bali (and takes a long time), unless I could get a connection via Maumere or to Ruteng.
Well, another option would be Bali, but I imagine crowds of package tourists. I dived Menjangan in 1994, it was nice. But is Bali as good as Alor or Komodo?
I also went to Maumere in 2005, Happy Dive used a tiny fishing boat for diving and did not have a great choice of gear. Actually, I did not like them.
Sao Wisata had high prices for diving, but did not run, and SeaWorld is not a good operator.
However, the sites would be okay.
Another option would be Lombok, other than the Gilis of course.
What would you recommend?
