NOV Destin Water Temps/Conditions

Hey FL divers

going to be in Destin 11/23 - 11/25 doing some diving over the holiday weekend

I hear that the water is cold and the Jellies are abundant this time of year.:11:

Jellies aren't an issue at this time of the year.

Water temps are currently in the low 70sF. I wouldn't expect it to be any colder than the upper 60sF by the end of Nov.

Tides are an issue right now, at least for the jetties, unless you want to do a night dive.

I'm glad to hear the water is running warmer this year. I still shiver thinking about last year when we did Pcola and Whiskey in 60 degree water on the day after T-Day.

Yeah, that was rough, and alot colder than the previous 3 years I have in my log

Right now the weather forecast isn't looking too good for that weekend. Mid-70s Thursday and Friday, then a drop on Saturday. Also showing showers Friday and Saturday. Of course, that could change.

Are you diving with a shop, or your own boat?
I'm just curious as I used to work at Emerald Coast SCUBA, and am really good friends with quite a few people there,as well as at SCUBATech.

Have you been diving with Anna for long?
Did you do your IDC with her?
She is an awesome CD, thats for sure!
Too bad about your trip, I talked to her yesterday , and she said they had to scrub a few trips over the holiday weekend.

No I, just since August but will continue to dive with ECS whenever possible.
Yes, in August. She is a great CD and a great person too.

That's the breaks but I would rather scrub a dive before if we know the conditions are not good rather than get all the way out there and not be able to dive.
Hate it for the students who didn't get to finish their AOW - come on spring time!!
