63f is cold?????? :06:


Congrats on your certification, my nephew was certified at 12 as well. Up here 63f is when we dive in swimsuits while eating ice cream bars on the surface to cool down.

Oh well, cold is very subjective now isn't it.
 
Go back and try Athens a little later, also. I was there the week before, and the conditions were waaay better. Water temps were 73, with no thermocline, and vis was around 20 ft. You had such a rough time because of all the rain and the cold front that blew through, not to mention all the students silting it up. The park is open Wed. thru Sun., and if you go during the week, there's very few people there. It's a great place and time to work on buoyancy, trim, and other skills, as long as you stay OFF the bottom. Later in the summer, the water temps will be into the high 80's, so you can use either a thin wetsuit, or whatever you're comfortable with.
