I'm a Fish!
My wife's nose bleeds on every ascent without fail. What's the deal here?

If you search the Diving Medicine forum for "nosebleeds", you will come up with a large number of threads discussing this exact problem.

Likely diagnoses include sinusitis, desiccation of nasal mucosa, and failure to equalize properly (including trauma from blowing too hard to equalize or from squeezing the nose too hard). Sometimes, despite thorough workup, no definitive cause can be found.

thanks, I'll check there.

It happens all the time to lots of divers. Unless blood is gushing out (think the Shining) I wouldn't worry too much.

number of new diver too fast descend force equalize then came out have nose bleeding can be caused by reversed block sinuses

Thank you for the input.
