BrianM:
Bob, the link you posted was very informative. I have always been curious how much Trimix fills are on the east coast. The only thing I was pointing out was their chart shows the same MOD for 32% and 36% nitrox, which is probably just a typo...but since they are a DIR shop, they should be ridiculed and publicly humiliated for such strokish behavior.:14:

in the snippet you posted, they were pointing out the IANTD standard mixes and MODS, not the DIR standard mixes and mods!:voskl1: :11doh:

:joke:

no worries!!

Web sites are commonly maintained by third-party vendors ... and often mistakes of that nature will go unnoticed because the person who submitted the information assumes it got input correctly ... or simply "sees" what they know is supposed to be there instead of what actually is.

I speak from nearly 30 years of technical writing/editing experience on that topic ... ;)

FWIW - I am a staff instructor at a DIR shop, and some of the mistakes I have seen on our own Web site are somewhat embarrassing. Of course, to be truly DIR, one should have a backup Web site readily available for deployment ... :browsmile

...and I hate doing technical writing and training development for some of the reasons you mention!!

IANTD might have published tables for the commonly used NOAA Nitrox I (32%) and Nitrox II (36%) mixes. But, to the best of my knowledge, IANTD doesn't have, list, or publish "standard mixes." So it couldn't of come from IANTD. Thus we can only assume it was either (1) some "stroke" at the DIR dive center who came up with the MOD of 111' (@ 1.4 pO2) for the "common" EAN36 mix, or (2) a mis-print on this DIR dive center's web page and they meant to type MOD of 95'.

Now the MOD of EAN36 as a deco gas (@1.6 pO2) is a different story.

I looked on the IANTD site and they have quite a few tables they sell, and it shows the correct info, depending on which way you look it up, 36% should be 95' MOD or at 111' it would be very close to 1.6 PPO2 (1.58)
