I've had mine down to 65m max and 55m+ a few times, and the buttons seem to stop working about 50m. I've just ordered a Carbonarm case for deeper stuff.

What you need is the Golem Gear GoPro case which is good for 150m or 300m.
I considered that thought before — if I’m shelling out the price of a whole gopro for a case, I’d rather get the T-housing version that takes the extra power pack thing (can’t remember the name right now)

edit:
(German) product link, it was called digipower Re-fuel btw 🤦🏽‍♀️

I assume if I go beyond 70m I’ll need the battery life 😅

Hello,
Im doing my first normoxic trimix dive tomorrow, for my IANTD certification.
I really would like to bring my gopro, filming myself with 4 tanks, it is also a nice site where we can see hammerheads (I have a tattoo without ever seeing one).
I know that the case is maximum 60meters and it is not smart to bring it to 75, but I would like to know if there are other divers bringing the gopro at that depth, without anything happening to it.
Thanks
Either be prepared to write it off should the housing fail, or if you can find an older version cheaply to test first?

In case anyone is still reading this thread.

I have used the supersuit to about 185 without incident. In my case, the buttons still worked. I also took it down to 250 without a camera in it and it was still sealed. Without a camera, I could not tell if it would work or not. I can tell you that the buttons definitely do not work at 100m, but the case still remained sealed. So, you would have to turn it on and leave it on.

I went to the German T-housing case after that to 100m, but because of the flat faced seal design, it is very dependent on a smooth surface and an even seal. The latching system is also poorly designed. It eventually started leaking.

After that, I went to the Isotta case, which is actually more expensive than the gopro itself. It has a dual tapered seal system and a locking closure mechanism. I have used it for a number of years now with total success, meaning zero leaks. I have had that case over 100 m a few times. Fortunately, the form factor of the normal gopro is compatible with multiple versions starting with the 9. Here are a couple of videos on that camera and some other things.

Not to add more poop to your parade, but you should not be taking a camera. You ideally should have an instructor who has a camera available in case they need to document something to debrief you on at the end of the dive. Especially being your first deep dive of the class, you will have so much other stuff to deal with, bringing a camera only leads to added risks, more chances of becoming overwhelmed, and just generally makes you a bad teammate to the other divers and a liabilty to your instructor.
If you've discussed bringing a camera on that dive with your instructor and they were fully onboard with it, then god help us all. That is a huge red flag about your instructor. I'm hoping he tells you no camera or tells you no camera until the last dive (which often is simply a fun dive with no skills or tasks added).

There’s a video called “if only” on YouTube that discusses what happens when a student takes a camera on a dive during a technical diving course.

Is 75m still normoxic for IANTD?
My Normoxic IANTD card states 60msw
