"IRREGARDLESS"

Now that's precious. I've heard it but seldom seen it in writing.
The OED says that "Irregardless" was first acknowledged in 1912 by the Wentworth American Dialect Dictionary who claimed that it came from western Indiana. There was enough fuss over the word that in 1923 ht Literary Digest had an article titled, "Is There Such a Word as Irregardless in the English Language?"
