SS & reel snapped on a D-ring(above my butt-ox,..usually...sometimes on a D-ring on my chest)......'everrything' else in a Dive Rite pouch on my WAIST belt(webbing)......

I use the DiveRite thigh pocket for the smb, mirror, light, etc. Have not had any problems with it slipping, sliding, stuff spilling out or what-not.

I'm a fan of the Irikonji shorts, and they hold most of my gear: big Halcyon SMB, 200' spreel, wetnotes, backup mask, shears, delicious deco stop beverage pouches, etc...with room to spare. Only regret is not buying the Elite version...once my current ones are finally shredded from lava tubes and wrecks, I'll upgrade.

I have 2 OMS 5 lb weight pockets on the webbing of my bp/w, one on each side of my waist. They work very well and hold everything I need them to. My shears are in a sheath also on the webbing. I have had my SMB bungied to the bottom of my bp before, and it was a great space saver. Now the SMB is in a pocket with the thumb spool, and an extra mask is in the other pocket. There are much larger pockets if you have much more to carry.

Used that one for the last few years. I like it. Some folks say it slides on the thigh, but I have not had that problem.
I recommend you replace the straps with one of these:

Those straps have rubber embedded in them. With that, get a separate belt for your pouch, so it doesn't pull on your gear. I've worn a thigh holster for years, and got a good idea of how to wear them comfortably.

I use these on my thigh pocket, and they are standard on my SERPA thigh holster I use when deployed. I guarantee it will not slide around, no matter how fast you run, or how rough you get- it's always right there.

I've got a big Dive-Rite pocket on my waist strap that I put my safety gear in, it holds a 4' SMB w/sewn on dive flag, a 50lbs lift bag, a mirror, a jon-line a whistle and a pair of shears. All secured by a long line tied to a loop inside the pocket. I can pull everything out take what I need and put it all back without losing or dropping anything. Anything else I need for a particular dive I clip to my harness.

um.... waist.... though there is some irony in your word choice...

What's a few letters---HEAR & there.....thank you, I stand corrected.....But, it might have made more CENTS---da udder weigh.....:)
