Ok... my mistake! To a large degree I think it's not so much "crap gear" but people not setting up their gear properly. There are a few brands I'm not fond of... but over all - most gear is very usable if set up in my opinion. It just depends on what type of set up you like!

True, all gear is usable, there's only the question of how well it performs the designated function. My remark does stand that all standard BC's have far too long corrugated hoses for their own good. I don't see why that's the industry standard, but hey.

When I dove a jacket BC everything was neatly clipped and nothing was dragging along, but the length of the hose did irritate me to some extent...

Bwaaa.... all the corrugated hose BCs I tried before buying my Morphos had relatively dangling hoses, which annoyed me (looking to get a hold of it). They aren't really "damned dangling hoses"...:D I was being a bit generous with the description of what I didn't like there...:eyebrow::eyebrow: In fact, the corrugated hoses can work just fine (and have for me in the past), but are a little more tricky for me (this is my oppinion obviously). I didn't think my lighthearted remark would cause such a stir!! :shakehead: Anyways, that's why I like the airtrim so much. Only down side I see is more moving parts, so in theory more chaces of faillure. But it's a tried and true system and as long as I keep it well maintained, I'm confident it will serve me well.

As Larry stated, it's more a question of the setup each person likes...:coffee:

How do you do an oral inflate with these sorts of toggle actuated BCD systems? Is there still a hose for that , but smaller? I've not gotten a close look at one yet.

Yeah Digger, on the left side there is a little hose with a one-way valve for oral inflation. It's easy to get at if needed.

Let me repeat my question please - Has anybody purchased, used, seen or have any opinions on the Seaquest Pro QD i3. I would like to hear from anyone who has some insight on that product. I can somewhat appreciate the discussion about dangling hoses & crap equipment but I am really interested in the i3 - thanks
