Do people very often run out of air in their tank during races?

If you want to be sure you don't run out of air: "surface" version with the snorkel is ~15 seconds slower over the same distance (same champion).

This looks amazing. On the other hand, in the Deepest Breath the fin motions that the safety guys used were very hard to watch.
