I think as far as trusting that it is done right, you need to pick you rdive shop like your doctor or dentist. then trust him that he is performing the correct procedures on you.

don't pick an ear nose and throat specialist for a stubbed toe
same with reg service.

don't pick a recreational shop for a technical servicing.

one reason the price may be different, the higher priced store may not be able to do the work themselves, but rather send it out to a shop that is qualified. then pay them the regular fee add a markup to this and charge you the higher price.

their thinking is that they keep you in their shop as opposed to sending you to another shop.

I think you did they right thing to select a technicaly oriented dive shop to perform your servicing.

O2 cleaning isn't that big of a deal, there isn't much more labour involved than a regualur servicing. it is taken apart and just sits in solutions, then tested and then put back together. as long as it is a good reg that you have maintained then there probably isn't much more than that.

AquaTec

Half my problem is the number of qualified shops ( teck shops is very samll) in my area is limited.

I know there tec was going to work on it, he wasnt sending it out. That i know for sure. It all came down o the shop not doing well and he was trying to make extra money.

I do trust this guys shop, and he was very nice and asked alot of questions. He asked the right questions, so i know he knew what hes doing.

wish they were closer to my house though, thats the only draw back. But i feel good about this shop.
