Mer,

Lola and I use the Princeton Tek II for a primary. They are pretty cheap and have two different power levels.... Granted I've only got about 30 dives or so where I used it a lot but it does cut through the poor vis. No problem with the thick gloves either. (Also works great for finding the last beer in the cooler in the middle of the night!)

I use the UK C8 Sunlight for a primary and the Princeton Tec Surge for back-up. Although for looking into holes and crevices during the day, the Princeton light does just fine and it will fit into BCD pocket. I bought the Princeton at SSD in Weymouth and the primary from diversdirect.com. I'm sure leisurepro.com will have a good selection, too.

Thanks for all the hints guys.

I ended up getting the UK C8 sunlight. Worked great until it flooded on it's second use and killed the rechargeable battery. And for some reason it's taking me forever to send it back to LeisurePro. If that fails, I will probably get a Princeton Tec Shockwave.

So I've found out that a UK SL4 (4 C cell, 5or 6W) ain't that bad either for night dives. And due to even more bad light karma, the UK Q40 (2xAA) will work in a pinch.
