This is about 6 feet long jelly fish kind of thing, probably common, but sure is weird

that thing is funky lookin.. i like it :) stinging type? oh wait your talking about the creature closest to the photographer :D

Oh very cool, a siphonophore. It looks very similar to one in Humann & DeLoach's book Forskalia edwardsi. They say "....the only member of the family found within safe scuba diving depths."
Thanks, one of the strangest things I have ever seen! So glad I saw it before running into it. Sounds like it is likely to sting.
