Just a brief trip report on Niagara Today off Belgium south end off Harington park,Well to start the big pond this A.M. WAS FLAT!! like a mill pond, the water surf was 64- and vis was well GREAT 40'+
Got to site from pals boat docked in PortWashington that town is a mess and harbour launches closed for FISH DAYS, but his boat was in.
We got up to Belgium so quick I had no time to play with all my toys, and well it was to be a one tank dive due to had to bribe Jeff my dive bud and Capt,of the boat TO DIVE WITH ME!
VIS WAS Great!Lake flat, and Jeff spotted a couple salmon and burned a 80 in less than 10 min! For a second I thought he was Narc-ed ,but just going thru a fishing melt down!

so the dive was short and now that I have been to this wreck once, And live in Belgium and no longer have my boat but a jet ski. will put a way to Launch and tow an inflatable raft out to the site on days like today,And will make sure My Dive Buddys are not fishing nuts!!

!

And well Capt Jeff is Fishing!

10 minutes in less then fifty feet???????? I usualy get more like forty five.

Hi Jim,
Just to say the dive was short and we never got to dive most of the site,he had one thought and it was to get top side and drop the down riggers!

Can u talk about the wreck? Depth, water conditions, etc. We're thinking of going out there sometime. :eyebrow:

Hi Hantzu,
Yep depth about 50-55' and a stony type bottom ,The water can be great if its not raining or a big blow!We had a mill pond day. and thease days are more and more with the dog days of summer finaly here!
This was my first dive on this site, and im no expert on this wreck but do live only three miles away, and will try to get back to it soon.
If you would like i can e-mail you wreck map,& lay out of wreck,GPS & Loran readings. the Seasonal Bouy that marks it is small but can be seen from shore on nice days-from south end of park.
The day i was on it vis was great and water temps not bad ,I dive wet and well I like to wine-but i was fine!
E-mail me at brad_i@hotmail.com and will send you the info, and heck if you come up let me know or i can let you how the big pond looks !!
P.S. I did not get to the boilers but next dive will the are just 300' from main wreck.\
