Hi all,

This has been a really bad winter for ice diving with all of the temperature changes. Needless to say the ice diving class that i was supposed to take never happened. Since i dont want that to keep me from diving this winter i was wondering if anyone had suggestions of places to dive in the southern NH region that don't usually have ice (or dont this season) that you would suggest for diving.

Yea, our planned ice diving class also got scuibbed, bizarre weather.

Are you set on fresh water? There's plenty happening up and down the coast. More to Cape Ann and then in Maine.

Hey Chris,
Yeah I know, no ice sucks but I'll talk to Mick tomorrow and we'll set something up, probably on Cape Ann. It's really not that far. It takes us about an hour to get there. We'll take you to Folly Cove. Very colorfull and it's like a wall dive. You'll love it. :thumb: :fro:

Safe ice was our issue.

The instructor felt that once a hole was cut and the divers , support divers and tenders were all in place, not to mention spectators it would not be safe so he called it.

He has a spot with a lakefront camp that provides a place to warm up so he chooses not to go to another smaller body of water that may have been OK.

Another instructor mentioned that she had an ice diving class planned but never came back with a date. I don't know it was lack of interest or ice.
