I would not rule out Seychelles. We really enjoyed the diving there and it's not just honeymooners and big, luxurious resorts.

It would be a short flight from Qatar to Mahe, (maybe do a few dives here), then get yourself to Praslin - this is where we found the best diving, absolutely loved "Ave Maria". La Digue is also lovely (we just visited, did not do any diving from La Digue).

Seychelles has some of the most stunning beaches I have ever seen. We went in March (or was it April?) and had great weather - you may need to check how conditions are June-October.

DiveUAE did you find it incredibly expensive to dive in Seychelles? or hotels in particular? Skimming over at rooms they seems very fancy and on the higher expense.

One of the reasons we tend to end up in Asia is finding great vibe and dives at a cost effective rate.

On Mahe we stayed at "Rows Villa" - lovely place, close to the beach (70 euro/night). We dove with Blue Sea Divers - do not recommend them.
On Praslin we stayed at Acquarino Guesthouse on Anse Possession - had a huge apartment for around 100 Euro pr night (inclusive of breakfast I think), it was close to the dive center we used (octopus diver center - excellent) charged 40 euro for 1 dive excluding equipment (with a discount, if you did 5 or 10 dives) - these prices are from 2016, so may have changed.
Around both places there were plenty of places to eat - from "cheap" to very expensive.

It's true this might be a bit more expensive than Asia, but again: it's a new place, beaches are stunning, diving is good (although not as good as Similan/RR or most anywhere in Indonesia, but better than Koh Tao),the underwater "landscape" is very different, we saw lots of reef sharks and small schools of rays, and it's a short flight (3-4 hours, if I remember correct)

Would love to hear suggestions on where to travel next for our diving holiday. We can easily get into visiting the same places which we absolutely love and keep going back to. There is so much out there on our bucket lit and would like somewhere exotic, warm, with great beaches, and more of a local vibe where we can immerse ourselves.

We love Thailand overall Ko Tao, Ko Samui, Khao Lak, Similian Islands. Had a great time in Bali loving Nusa Lembognan and Candidasa areas. Had an amazing time in Galapagos and also liked Isla Mujeres. All had relatively warm temperatures and a great combination of diving and local experience. We are not into more populated, fancier places which are more city like versus local dive communities. Where would you go next.

Raja Ampat and Komodo are are on our list. Would also consider Papaua New Guinea, Sipidan, Malaysia or somewhere in Vietnam. Considered Maldives and Seychelles think it may be more luxurious and less local. We do have two tickets on Qatar therefore leaving some South American, Caribbean bucket lists for another year along with a future planned Philippines.

Would love to hear places you could spend a couple weeks exploring.
