Anybody heard any news on the missing diver off of Ocracoke. I just saw on the news that a diver that was diving with a group of ten divers has been missing since 11 Am today. There was not much more info on the 6 o clock news. Did not say what boat they were on or where they were diving. Did say it was a beginning diver though.

The boat was The Akyla from Dive Hatteras as reported by the Virginian Pilot & they were in 90fsw diving a sumerged oil rig 20 miles east of Ocracoke.
It was chartered by a group called the Wade Pryor Divers.

Thats what I thought when I first read it & they decribed him as a novice. I would think even in a private charter the operator would make sure divers were qualified for the dive.

The diver, Rich Pryor was from New Market MD. Here's a link to his father's message on another board:

Rich had 500+ dives according to his father. The coast guard has suspended the search. Please keep his family in your prayers.
