Hey guys thanks for the welcome! Well i just got OWD certified last november 28, 2005 and between then and now had made 10 dives. Im in the process of buying my set of gears. I already have the basics fins, booties, wetsuit and mask/snorkel. My question is what reg, octupos and console can you recommend? Not the high end please but something that are inexpensive but can do the job right. I've been to leisurepro online and they have this packages up to $350. Are they ok?

I got into scuba diving only now and i'm 47 years of age. I smoke but don't drink hmm.. maybe a bottle or two of beer. My regret is i should have taken this passion a long time ago. It's a real different world under. Words can't really describe the beauty of it all. Oh and lastly, i'm diving with my wife! she went through the training and all. She's my best buddy.
WELCOME to ScubaBoard!!!
I just got my gear in the mail Friday and dove with most of it Saturday. I think you'll find the best discussion about gear in the equipment section, but questions about how to choose the gear might be better answered in New to SCUBA.
My only advice is to take your Leisure Pro prices to SCUBA Toys, and order the same thing, ScubaToys honors the prices and is an authorized dealer so you get better coverage from the manufacturers.
If you've visited the Philippine Paradise Divers forum, you already realize that you have a large group of people there to arrange diving with.
I envy you having such a close diving partner!
Happy you're with us!
