Just joined this forum today to start my research on how to go about learning to dive. I've always wanted to dive but am claustrophobic and so I sit on the sidelines watching everyone else enjoy their dives. That's tough when you're in the Bahamas, Hawai'i, Mexico, etc. and you're the only one not joining in on the dinner conversation re: how great today's dive was and what you saw.
So, I've finally decided to try it and overcome my fear. I thought that if I did enough research and found a trainer that could work with someone who was a little fearful that I would be able to finally tackle my fear and enjoy myself and never again feel like I'm missing out.
I live in the CA East Bay, Tri-Valley area. Does any have any recommendations as to where I might start researching trainers in this area?
Thanks for any/all assistance.
