Hi,
I'm new here, so here is my little story:
I took a Discover scuba diving course in december 05, in Jamaica.
On a second trip I upgraded to Padi Scuba Diver in Dunns River Sandals resort. By the way, on one of the dives we got up from 40 feet to find our boat had drifted away a good mile, the sea had changed and we had 5 foot waves to deal with, we were three miles from shore. Signaling was ineffective, luckily a fisherman saw our group of 10 and he was able to get our boat captain's attention. All that time I did not feel in any danger knowing that we had many options opened to us.
Anyhow, On my last trip to Jamaica, this march, I brought my three children (two girls and a boy 18, 20, 22) and had them introduced to scuba diving. I then took my OW with my son.
My goal is to improve my skills, get proficient in my level and enjoy the best activity I can think of. Who knows, I might retire in a warm place and scuba dive to my heart's content.
I foud in the last three weeks that the Scuba Board community is a pretty well informed and welcoming group. Passionate people eager to share.
All the best to you
