I'm new to the board and SCUBA. Just bought 4 tanks and got hydro'd. Would like to repaint them, but want to make sure I don't do something improper.

Sorry if I missed it, I'm sure someone's got a FAQ on painting steel and aluminum tanks. Any URLs or directions graciously welcomed. Thanks.

For some reason these links never work for me (?)

The big rule is NO HEAT.
No heat cured pain and NO powder coat!

The heat can distroy the heat treat of AL tanks and make them completely useless and more than that very dangerous. Like so weak that they explode on the next fill.

I usually just keep AL tanks natural or in original pain complete with scratches.
For steel tanks I like ZRC, a cold galvanizing coating that prevents rust.
