I have been using the Madison Supply shears for about 10 months now and so far no rust! I rinse and soak them after every dive trip and then spray them with silicone.

Countered by compact so you will have it when needed, I like the concept but the materials used make it likely to fail when needed.
If you find small size beneficial, then sure, use it, but also get used to folding it out eyes closed.
There are many choices to make in diving and each one comes with both benefits and drawbacks.

It’s actually quite simple to open and it doesn’t have to be folded to put it back in the holder, I think it’s a great idea but poor execution for diving.
