Will be diving and taking AOW with Reef Divers on cudjoe key on the 27-29th. Anyone going to be in the area? I usually dive out of Panama City and N.FL caves. Hope to find some new buddies...

Just got back from Looe Key....you're going to LOVE it.

Cudjoe Key is actually just south of where we were staying in Little Torch Key (around MM 28.5). You'll probably have to head back north (or east) to hit the dive ops along US1. I don't recall seeing Reef Divers along the way.

The one I dove with was Looe Key Resort and Dive Center. A fairly nice dive op. I'll try to get some sort of a report up soon. You'll probably be doing your deep portion of your AOW on the Adolphus Bush. Definately a nice wreck. Attached is one of the many pics I took of that wreck.

Good Luck and have fun!

I actually know the captain, Jim Wyatt, from the #scubatech chatroom on undernet. Can't wait, and hope it doesnt totally ruin my Gulf diving forever. :)

If you need a map to get to Cudjoe Key & the dive shop, e-mail me.

earlier this year with the owner, Capt. Jim Wyatt. Great fellow, friendly, knowledgable. A nice 6-pack boat. We did the Busch wreck and Looe key reef (even got buzzed by a reef shark). I'd dive with Jim again anyday.
You'll have fun.

I thought you were going to call me when you were down here. Did the map I sent you get you to the house?

:hiding:

Yes...I did get the map you sent. It's the one I used to find the house. I attached a pic of the view of the channel from the dock at the house. We had a "dome-home".

I was almost ready to call you the last day that we were down there. We were trying to find that stinkin' Perky's Bat Tower on Sugarloaf. Drove all over that key with no result. I was more interested in getting home by then after the sunburn at Bahia Honda.

We ended up going over to the Mortello Museum to see Robert the laSt day. The girlfriend was obsessed with that doll after the ghost tour we took. I was thinking of making a replica of him and placing him strategically in the apartment one night. I figured I'd never hear the end of it though. :D

Sorry I didn't call you. Looe Key is definately on my list of things to do at least once a year. I want to try and do some sort of trip report with most the pics I took (over 100 of them at Looe). Maybe next time I'm down there everything will be ok for us to do some divin'.
