sure, I will definitely go with you guys soon.
I love the north coast diving. and prefer it over going south. for the most part. there is some island diving down south that also shouldn't be ignored.. I don't care to get too involved in a discussion here on scuba board. out of fear of getting into a pissing contest.. egos can get in the way here from time to time. come on out and do a club dive with us. its a good way to meet some new people in the dive community...

interesting. One more question, is halibut very common to see? where is the best place to spot them?

Halibut are pretty common, and you will find them in the sand. :lotsalove:
In Monterey at the Breakwater I have seen them. On the North Coast we usually try to avoid the sand.

not 2 many flaties in these waters up north. you might have a chance 2 see one at fort ross...there around.. bodega bay and the jetty. some guys go out there. but you need to be 1/2 crazy.. the land lord lives out there..best bet is to go south. monterey, carmel, even better so cal in the la and san diego area.

most spots around here that have halibut are waters most divers stay out of.. marin headlands like stenson beach. limiture beach.. just don't get dove.. once again, diving these locations can come with a high price. the cost of living is high in these parts.. LOL!!! the big white..

there seasonal and there are 2 species that come in at different times generally.. spring is a good time to look for them. Monterey is your best bet. there kind of skittish. hard to sneak up on with tanks and get close.. so I have herd.. if hunting.. free dive is common. or long spear guns to increase your range without getting to close to spook them.

Thanks a lot, guys. It sounds like the halibuts are protected by the big white.
