I'm a Fish!
Hi everybody,

I just bought a new 5mm ScubaPro S-TEK steamer wetsuit.
http://www.scubapro.co.uk/pdfs/Page48-51.pdf

The suit fits me perfectly and is even a little loose in the chest area but I like it this way.

The new models of this suit come with a new collar system, like a double collar or double turtle neck as they call it. The outer collar has like a rubber edge all around that for obvious reasons is there to seal the entrance of watter. This rubber (not neoprene, the 2nd turtle neck underneath is made of neoprene, the outer one is made of neoprene with that rubber edge) edge is too tight. Not in the way of obstructing blood flow, but just too tight to be comfortable.

Anyone has some tips on how can I stretch it a little? Anyone has this suit and knows what I am talking about?
Is there a way or I must takeit for repair?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't seen any of those types of suits, but on neoprene necks, you can stick a large can or other object in them to stretch them out. Overnight or several hours is needed.

Stretching doesn't work with latex, if your suit has any of that on the collar check with the folks you got the suit from.

ill second that. putting the neck over a tank for a few days will stretch it, or should stretch it. maybe put it on a 100 cu ft tank if you need it to stretch more. other than that, the only other way i know of is to have it custom fit.

Thanks Justin, the tank sounds like a good idea...
Bob3, I don't know if this is latex, but if it is, is there no chance to stretch it a little?

I am attaching a few pics of the collar. The red arrow marks the tight rubber edge.

My wife's Scubapro suit is also a little tight in the neck for her. It also has the "rolled" collar on the neck. Did you have any luck stretching out the neck?

Hi all:

I also have a very tight neck seal on my S stek suit. I have read reports on rodale scuba diving website that Scubapro for some reason downsize the neck ring outer dia.
on their suits.
I usually try to stretch by hand the rubber seal before i get suited up & i find once in the water its no problem.
p.s. i have the old style 2000 model suit.

I have the same problem with my Scubapro wetsuit. Its brand new, havent used it yet but extremely tight on the neck. I'm attempting to stretch it some with a soccer ball wedged in the neck. Good luck!
