Hi I'm Josh. I grew up diving in Puget Sound WA, got certified when I was 14.
I had both ankles replaced at 21 and hadn't dove again until 3 weeks ago (I'm 30 now).
Well I did go last August when I went to Oahu. Dove off of Waianae.
Even 9 years after having the ankles replaced I still walk a newborn deer.
I just recently purchased the tank boot with wheels and that has helped a lot.
I can't handle a whole lot of weight on my feet at all, and after each dive I have regretted getting out of the water.
I think everybody with permanent orthopedic injuries can share that feeling.
I've lived in So Cal for 3 years now and just got wet 3 weeks ago.
Torrance beach had a visibility of no more than 10ft. One of us got lost and surfaced 200ft away.
Next target site is San Pedro, rocks = wildlife. What Torrance kind of lacked in.
