how do the ledgend glacia and the ledgend supreme compare? dose anyone else have a suggestion on a reg. As I have only seen one reply about the GT3 I am leaning away from it as an option. Thank you.

If you want to get into tech, you also need to consider hose routing with doubles.

Chipwd,
Just as a point of information, the AL ACD system is a MECHANICALLY opened closure device. The closure device is physically opened and held open when the yoke is tightened into place. Gas pressure is not required. As opposed to Oceanic's PNEUMATIC closure system where the device is held open by gas pressure. To the best of my knowledge, there have been no problems with the AL system, but the Oceanic system has had a few growing pains.

Also, the Legend octo is indeed identical, except for the color of the faceplate and yellow hose, to the standard Legend second.

As an oceanic tech and one who uses both a GT3 and delta I can say that you would not go wrong with either. I'd personally get a GT3 WITHOUT the DVT. All of these devices are IMO gimmicks for those who are less than careful with their equipment. And if you do go to doubles the DVT is not an option in DIN anyway. The Al may offer it but again I;d never buy a reg with one. I've used my GT3 as a back up in 38 degree water down to 155 feet with no issues. They are easily serviced and the CDX5 first stage has great hose routing. If you want pics let me know. As an aside if you go without the DVT you'll save at least 100 bucks. And while it's tru there were some issues with it early on those problems have been corrected by a minor fix. Right now though Leisure pro has the CDX5 Gt3 with DVT on sale for 199.00! Or go with the alpha8 CDX5 for 144.00.

Great deal on OCEANIC GT3-CDX5 REGULATOR PACKAGE from Divers-Supply.com what about this package ? I have been told great things at my LDS about the GT3 although I don't know anything about the octo in the package. could you give me a link to that sale I just checked and it is $299. Scuba Regulator - Mares MR22 ABYSS - SALE! - StyleFeeder.com I also saw this reg and would like to know if this is the one you were talking about.
AquaLung Legend ACD Supreme Regulator and AquaLung Legend Glacia Regulator how do these compare? Thank you.

I have several Oceanic regs, including 3 GT3 second stages. They are REALLY smooth breathers, good in cold water, reliable, and cheap. Can't go wrong.

I used to dive a GT3 before I lent I left it with my LDS for routine servicing and they had a break in and it was stolen. I replaced it with a ScubaPro MK25/G250V which I love although I must admit I don't love it enough to justify the cost difference between it and the GT3. Th GT3 is a great reg and way better than anything you could get for anything close to its price. I would recomend that you get it with a DIN 1st stage and a yoke adapter so that when you go tech you can just take off the adapter and the reg will be ready to go. If I had to do it again I would have replaced it with another GT3.

I have contacted my LDS and they told me that lesur pro was not a reputable dealer and I should not bye from them. Can anyone tell me wether or not this is true? I would like to get a GT3 because of the price.

I think that you will find the Oceanic GT3 to be a very good regulator backed up by a company that has absolutely awesome customer service.

If your considering tech Apeks DS4 first stages are very popular for hose routing. The XTX50/100/200 are all great cold water regs as well.

Can't really go wrong with Oceanic, ScubaPro, Aqualung/Apeks, etc. Just make sure you can get them serviced locally.
