Hi folks-

Santa brought a Perdix 2 and so far I love it (haven't dived with it yet though). I'm a typical recreational diver, so at least for now I have no use for some of the info screens on the bottom row - things like GF99, Tissues, Delta+5, etc. Is there any way to hide these screens when cycling through? Mainly I just want to access 1) the compass, 2) the detailed AI transmitter screen so I can check on my partner's air, and 3) temp and max depth. Everything else is just noise to me while on a dive. I know I can create a mini display with most of this showing all on the main screen, but I fear that might be too much info crammed into a small space, and could actually pose a risk of misreading something (esp. when narc'd), like mistaking your partner's pressure for your own, etc. So I want to keep the main screen with just my tank pressure and my GTR - simple, big, easy to read - and then cycle through between compass, partner's pressure/GTR, and temp/max depth. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Sean

Again, I'm not talking about the info displayed on the default/standard screen. I'm talking about what the manual on p.16 calls "info screens", which are accessed by pressing the right button repeatedly to cycle through them. There's a number of those info screens that are entirely useless to me on a typical rec dive (e.g. tissues, GF99, TTS, etc.), so I'd like to suppress them if possible so I don't have to cycle through them. It sounds like you don't know how to do that either, so I think we can move on, but thanks for trying.

As others have said you can not turn these off they come stock on all Shearwater Platforms and have been there for years (way way before the Perdix even came out).

Remember the Shearwater Perdix is basically ”THE” computer to have for advanced mix gas technical OC/CC diving. Way be for it became trendy to have a Shearwater computer the Shearwater platform was built as a simple but effective diving computer for technical mixed gas OC/CC diving as the options you want to turn off are critical options that many diver use and like to have access too.

Not to sound rude but you are kind of defeating the purpose of owing an advanced computer like a Perdix if you want to turn off tissues loading graph, GF99, TTS, etc. features like this are exactly why most buy a Perdix. This is like buying a fully loaded car with top of the line touchscreen controls but then complaining that you can‘t control the air con, lights, and radio with pre 2000 style clicky buttons and levers.

I didn't complain, I just asked if I it were possible to configure the computer to my liking. Sounds like the answer is no, and I'm perfectly fine with that.

For the record, my purpose for owning an advanced computer like the Perdix is to have 1) a computer I can grow into as I progress, 2) a computer that is super easy to read for my aging eyes, 3) a computer that I can customize to my liking, 4) AI support, 5) excellent customer support, 6) broad community support, 6) bluetooth and Mac/IOS support, 7) common battery support, 8) excellent reliability. The fact that I don't *yet* need every feature it offers doesn't mean it wasn't the right purchase for me - I'm confident it was.

The choice from Shearwater is that you can configure the middle row with 3 widgets to display the information you need on the main screen. (I think that’s only in Tec mode though?)

(Just so you know in case you need this later …)

Correct. Rec mode (Single and 3 gas NX) allows for two of the positions to be customized. Can be either a single info field or one of the customizable 3 field widgets.
